Flower Girl Dolls

This is what I have been busy with for the last few days and they are on their way to Dundee. These little 7" dolls in satin bags make lovely gifts for flowergirls and the embroidered message makes them extra special. They are £18.99 + £3 p.p. which includes the embroidered message. You choose the hair and trim colour.

For a while now I have been working on something very different for Dolly Daydream. These little crochet baby shoes are going to be part of a gift set for new babies. Pink or blue and a white set for Christening. Working on the other pieces and will post when ready.

18" Christening doll

This 18" Christening doll is one of my best sellers. The customer chooses the hair and eye colour and the embroidered message for the underskirt to make a truly unique doll. The dress is made from beautiful ivory satin backed dupion trimmed with lace.

Finished Cricket doll

Here she is all finished. One 18" doll dressed in her cricket whites including baseball cap with club logo. This is one of several dolls, to mark special events in their Daughters life that this customer has ordered from me. Thinking I should try to make a cricket bat for her to carry, will work on that today.
I really love the challenge that commission dolls give me.

Commission dolls

I make a lot of commission dolls. The customer sends me a photo of the person the doll is for and detail of how they would like them to be dressed and I get as near as I can.

14" Bridesmaid

The customer who ordered this 14" doll sent me a photo of the dress she wanted making. It is a replica of the one the bridesmaid is wearing. The ivory tulle skirt has individually hand cut petals inside. The customer has chosen the hair and eye colour for her doll making a unique gift for her little bridesmaid.

Cricket doll

I am working on a doll for a little girl who has just started playing cricket. Have made the doll and the trousers and polo shirt with the club logo. I am really pleased with how this is turning out. Got to make a baseball cap and trainers tomorrow,

Commission ready for posting

Here she is all finished. She has been a lot of work but I have enjoyed making her. I hope my customer will like her.

I am enjoying working on my latest commission order. I am replicating an antique doll ornament as a Christening gift. She should be finished today.

I have also been busy making a range of fabric toys for babies and toddlers as not every one has a girl to buy for. I hope that by making them in bright, washable fabrics they will be a super alternative to plastic toys.

Update

I have realised that I need to keep updating my blog so I will post something every day from now on.
Since my last post a lot has happened including a house move and new items added to my web site. i also have a flourishing Facebook page.
The new range of dolls are softie dolls are are quite different to my much loved calico dolls.They are 17" tall and have fleece hair and as with all my dolls they are CE approved
